Guild outing, the 2nd sing for fun XD

Flashback: A few months ago, during Defauq outing (the one which SP failed and in the end we makan inside POMO?)
WL: "Eh organise a K-box outing leh." Yep, so after a few months, it really came true. Posting about the guild singing outing, or some may say the anniversary outing. =P

Following the past traditions, I decided to sort of moderate the arrival timings of everybody by giving different meeting times. O_O
~ Timings for different people ~
1300: Nat, Zack (She came at 12+, Zack came at 1+)
1315: Eugene (He came at 12+)
1330: WL, YL (WL came before 1315)
1345: YX, ZY
Yep! Zack finally came for a guild outing! ^^ I have forgotten how he looked after the movie with him and Nat a few years back~
Strangely enough, the people who used to be early came late and the reverse happened in an epic way. YL and ZY came after 2 plus. While waiting for them, Zack bought Starbucks coffee, WL bought Sharetea and I bought some mini multigrain/chocolate croissants for snacking. After purchasing, ZY arrived and we all proceeded to Braddell Heights CC.
ZY wore long pants and a grey shirt! Which is totally different from his usual white shirt kid attire, someone should give him a prize for his appearance! He said that the place should be very cold, which in my opinion, close enough. I wore a jacket nearing the end of the singing session. ^^
The CC is of extremely close proximity to NEX, much to WL's surprise as he had expected to take a bus to somewhere far away. Soon after we settled down, YL arrived at Serangoon and I went to bring him over. He thought of nothing but Trecia when being asked on the 7th person identity. That's so sweet! XD

Perhaps I should have reserved a bigger room. =/
Well, 7 people did squeeze inside the room, in the order, Eugene, ZY, WL, Jeff, Nat, YL, Zack. However it is not exactly spacious, and poor WL must have been crushed by me. =/
Another setback would perhaps would be a lesser variety of songs? Some of Yellowcard, FEM, Owl City songs are not there. Perhaps the songs that I hear are not that popular, cos some are really recent, like 'When can I see you again', 'Live while we're young', 'Gold', etc. Other than that, the cheap rates of $50 including room, extra person, drinks should be value-for-money for the conditions we get.
I remember Nat mei saying that Zack could sing rather well, and I shall say that it's true! For high-pitched songs, or all those lovey-dovey chinese songs (single/duo), he can sing without really going out of tune! Needless to say, the king of chinese songs would be YL. Anything is possible, including words that are ridiculously difficult to pronounce. Power!
Nat on the other hand, is down with her english songs, and not bad! Did I mention she asked me to sing Somewhere over the Rainbow with a Chinese MV? o.o That was disastrous, I skipped more than 3/4 of the song. Apparently that MV used another chinese MV's video, which involved ripping of cushions and knocking of head on the edge of the truck. Violent. -_-
WL still refuses to sing with the microphone, but sings along to most of the songs. Atas singing by him, it's All-Time-Low! Any high-key notes would be skipped by him, which is definitely better than going out of key right? =P
The 2 bosses, Eugene and ZY, are super busy with their phones! Ok la, Eugene sang along with some of the songs, and spread a cool aura while monitoring his business. =/
As for me? "Kor is unsure of whether he sing correctly or not". Which is very true! I never listen to instrumental versions and try to sing myself. =/

So for the 1st 2 hours plus or so, it's mainly YL and Zack taking turns to sing Chinese songs which are sometimes accompanied by Nat. Somehow the songs being sung didn't really change, but hey the old songs are still rather nice! ^^ In between the session, ZY suddenly took interest in the remote control, and ended up choosing (unknowingly/accidentally) the song 'Money no enough'. Everybody was like asking: "Lolwut where did that even come from!" That was a good laugh to break the silent emo mood of YL's songs. XD
The remaining 1hr+ or so seems to be feature the songs which WL mostly knows / know all of them, except for Chris Brown's songs. FEM and JB's 'Live My Life', Taylor Swift's 'We are never ever getting back together', ATL's 'Time-bomb', One Republic songs. I realised One Republic songs are much easier to sing compared to much other songs. Or in Nat's words: 'Easier to shout.' Yep, you don't need a nice tune to shout out a song! XD
Speaking of which, I realised that the only song WL sang alone (still without a microphone) is ATL's Backseat Serenade. The MV which everybody else looked at with a stunned look, and asking 'Have you heard of this song before?" Apparently WL likes 'Hopeless Records' songs, which is mostly noisy, machiam rock band, or Cat 2 in my phone categorisation. So I think that's no wonder he can sing ATL and One Republic songs well bah~

After waves of singing of both EL and CL songs, I sort of realised that English songs are mostly about getting together, songs to propose to your girlfriend, how someone thinks of another in a oh-so-sweet way, except for Taylor Swift 'We are never ever getting back together'. On the other hands, Chinese songs have a massive variety of break-up songs, how one missed the good times when they were together, people dying, until the guild posted a question: "since when Chinese got clubbing songs de!?"
So I chose 離開地球表面, which nobody thinks it's a club song. Should have chosen the whole list of Mayday songs, 1 of them must be a club song!!! XD
For more peaceful / serenade songs, I chose 情非得已 (actually intended for WL) and 音樂讓我說. Surprisingly, YL isn't familiar with the latter, and I sort of ended up singing myself... perhaps with WL and Nat as accompaniment. The former? YL said that it was a super old classic song, and everybody agrees with that! XD The only thing that is different is that the MV showed a concert video, and the song ended up in a non-acoustic version. WL and I tried to sing along and were heavily criticised by Nat.
Nat: "Walao, Kor and WL sing machiam rock version, instead of the smooth version. You all literally followed the video singing words by words."
WL: "Ya what! We go along with how the video is shown lor! If not very weird right?"

Other happenings which I'm lazy to elaborate much XD
1. To Nat, 张惠妹 is in the house for every song!
WL: Eh, 一千年以後林俊傑唱啊?
Nat: 张惠妹!
From then on, she's being disturbed upside down for the few hours. Awesome!

2. Oppa no word style!
Besides Money no enough, apparently ZY chose Gangnam style as one of the songs, which once again amused everybody! Nat asked me and WL to dance Gangnam with her, nah. We are shy guys. >.<
Apparently even 'Oppa Gangnam style' are Korean words in the MV, which surprised quite a number of people. Of course, nobody sang along with the video, but rather laugh along with it. =P

3. Food!
I ate one piece of cheese tofu without knowing what the hell that is. Luckily the thick concentration of the cheese covered the taste, or I may have thrown up while singing. Other than that, the chicken cutlet and nuggets were awesome! :D The mini croissants were great too! The multigrain and chocolate ones are rather fragrant, and chewy~ $4 for 6 pieces seems to be a rather good price for a good quality food. :)
Didn't drink from the jug of coke being provided to the room. Other than Zack drinking 1 cup, the rest of the 5 servings were being solo-ed by ZY. Power! XD

6.45pm, we left the place and headed straight to the cinema. 7pm is a really rushed timing to watch a movie but oh well. ZY had a hospital visit the next day, so I don't think he can sleep late and wake up early, thus the timing is being brought forward to suit him. :)
With a conclusion of a fun (sorta) just-for-fun sing session, me, WL, YL and ZY proceeded to watch the movie. ^^

I didn't even know that there would be a short animation in. Paperman seems like a classic guy like girl kinda story, and its so sweet! ^^
Candy Crush seems to be the main scene for the whole movie! The sweets, candies, oreos, etc are so cute! I like the parts where they really showed what images would be shown if characters have jumped into other games, like all the villians in the Pacman meeting box, lost-and-found Mario mushrooms. Someone should give the animators a prize! =D
If someone's New Year resolution is to be like Ralph, it would be rather awesome! Aim to achieve something big and show it to the world that he / she can do it, even though the world doesn't bother / care. Eh? That suspiciously sounds like Zul. o.o
An excellent movie! Perfected by the song 'When can I see you again' when the credits roll. Ahaha...!

A quick dinner at Texas Chicken before ZY rushed back to sleep and YL going clubbing / night-drive at midnight. I tried the Texas Supreme burger, which to me would lose to KFC's Zinger with cheese burger. WL ate a fish burger (TC chefs must be like: shit i forgot how to make a fish burger), like how War would prefer eating chicken at MFM. A pity there wasn't a guild dinner like that time we ate at a chinese seafood place with WL eating his salty-like-a-summer-day fried rice. =/
Nothing much happened after that. 2 of us went to various gifts and deco shops. Angry birds, cute bears, a pair of learner chopsticks, comfy chair, big mirrors, something which you can put pasta, cookies, random nonsense in a large jar, baskets which you should know not to put all your eggs in one, etc.
Last stop: Buying drinks at NTUC, looking at candy singing AKB48 'Sugar Rush!'. A lot of people were shopping at that time, probably to chiong for last minute bolsters or something.
NTUC self-checkout counter is really troublesome. I think I swiped my ATM card for like 10 times or something before it finally got accepted, only to fail at the last part and I have to key in how much I wanted to pay. WL practically diao-ed. Yea, that's how bad it is.
