Marsiling Singout

"I purposely studied for this!" - WL

ODNS study for a singout. ^^ I forgot who suggested for this, but this can be considered a makeup(?) for WL and of course, a walk into the different genres of songs. =D

==========

A super enthu WL woke everybody up in the early morning, which gave me a false impression that he would be early as he claimed to have left home at 11am. Ah, the unforseen disastrous rain, couldn't accept a punctual WL, and thus, me and War waited for him for 20 minutes. -.-

At 12.20pm, WL finally arrived (in a L3 atas attire), and we proceeded to the nearest coffee shop for a quick lunch. As ODNS have chicken rice in the morning, War ate the chicken rice with pride and glory in the afternoon while I had a few crispy pancakes. :) Not sure if the pancake aunty really recognised or mistaken me as somebody else, she asked how come I did not patronise her stall for a long time. Rather heartening to hear that. =D

A rather short walk to Marsiling CC via the stairs and building shortcut. Luckily it wasn't raining.

1.15pm

The singout place lobby has a lot of aunties / small kids, but none of them seems like the owner of the KTV. After waiting for about 5 mins, a random aunty asked the lady boss to attend to us. Are they having a family lunch or something?

Comparing to the Clementi singout, this time

-> WL sang more songs than War, and very irritating ones
-> Disney songs greatly cut
-> Rock songs increased sharply
-> Owl City song changed from The Saltwater Room to Shine Your Way
-> A lot of transportation songs!

We didn't think much about the song category, until we summarised the song list and realised there were submarines, airplanes, bicycles, taxis... Talk about the connected world we live in. :D Besides his usual ATL songs, WL chose quite a number of Britney Spears / Lady Gaga / Kelly Clarkson songs for his pleasure. Not really sure whether the pleasure is him enjoying the song or just irritating War though! :D In order of War's dislike, it could summarised with this inequality.

Paramore (Still Into You) > Britney Spears > Kelly Clarkson

I always thought he liked Kelly Clarkson songs. Her songs are damn hard to sing, but hey at least it's nice to hear! WL sang 'Still Into You' like a pro, and unknowingly sings the lines just like Paramore. XD

"Can't count the years, on one hand, that we've been tOgEtHeR!" If you think that it's strange to change the caps settings for the last word, go listen to how she sings, you will agree with the unique font. :D

~~~ Some of the songs we sang ~~~
As War and WL said, a very strange MV.
Going back to Primary School time, Calcutta! The actual version in the singout was a remix, but I don't feel it had much difference. That is considered one of the top songs sang. =P
An ancient song by War, Yellow Submarine.
Nobody knew how to sing this. This is one of the questions on WL's Icon pop quiz.
The final song shown. War and I thought that WL chose this song, which turned out to be just random. A nicer song than 'I Knew You Were Trouble.' This song sounds quite similar to other songs, to the extent that WL and me remixed other song lyrics with this. =P
A chinese song sang by WL
WL's ATL song of the singout: Somewhere In Neverland
~~~~~~~~~~

Other random things during the singout

- Jeff played with the high key and low key buttons, thus the song audio is constantly changed.

WL: Eh you DJ drop the base ah!

- WL sang 'Dui mian de nu hai' and 'Domino' for his late punishment songs.
- It's difficult to find the garlic bread, who to ask?
- The outside crowd chose some opera songs and Gentleman as songs, scary singing.

- The awesome moment during Owl City's Shine Your Way.

War: Yuna look like Malay like that.
WL: Yuna sounds Korean
Jeff: She is not Korean, she's a Malaysian
War / WL: !?

~~~
The singout ended 4 hours later, amounting to $24 for 3 people. That's cheaper than a person's price for a Clementi ticket. ^^ Following that were long overdue complaints that the Clementi place is really way too expensive, with a retort by WL saying that we could have left. o.o
"That time the whole AVA went to a restaurant, see the price, then walked away like a boss. So it's possible for you guys to see the price and leave too." - WL
Not sure if he is talking about Subway, but nevertheless everyone was happy about the cheap price. Nice song variety, cheap, clean room, just that its a bit too far. Not bad! :)
Just like how WL disturbs War with the chicken rice thingy, the spirit of PJ wouldn't be left out just like that. The bus that travels to Woodlands took unusually long to arrive, to the point that we actually left the bus stop and intended to walk to Woodlands.
Jeff: Skali we walk already then the bus come.
(This hypothesis is super true, we have already waited for 20 minutes)
True enough, after we walked for a few steps and kept on turning around looking for any signs of the bus, the bus really came, rewarding us with a short sprint and an awesome saying.
"We are not being paranoid, we are just taking safety precautions."
Aiya whatever la. LJS for dinner, nice banana pie. :) That's about it for the singout!
