30th May 2018 dinner

The jellyfish is back! This is a post about a small birthday celebration organized by WX and WN, from my DSO orientation group. =P

=================

So I was kind of mildly surprised by why the couple suddenly organised a dinner on a random weekday, until I saw WX in the intern room and he told me that I must go for the dinner. o.o So yup there u have it, the guess. XD

30th May came, and dinner was held at Saizeria at Star Vista at 7pm. Arrived a few minutes late, but turned out that I was not the latest. There was the couple and Jason sitting at the table. The couple seemed to be much closer (duh) as compared to before 2018, which apparently is a good thing! Jeff's DSO orientation group creates good relationships. =P

A while later, Joelle arrived and we started to have dinner. The brocoli was delicious, the chicken was fine, and we had small talks about work~ It was close to 8pm when we finished our dinner, and then Audrey arrived after he work. We wondering if we should get some extra dishes and the "durian pizza" item caught our attention.

So this pizza is a new item (don't remember seeing that last year) with durian and melted cheese on the pizza. Jason was all in for this, but none of the rest (other than me) were interested. Thus we ended up ordering some chicken wings (Jason disapproves) as a time-killer food item. Ah... Audrey had some pasta, and disliked the durian pizza too. Apparently eating real durian would be good, but not when it is placed on the pizza. That is an interesting thought. =D The couple liked the chicken wings, as they were like saying who should eat the last wing and stuff. Very romantic.

At around 8.50, we had the main item of the day, what could possibly be in a big red plastic bag? XD So that turned out to be a birthday cake for the evening! This is a very nice cake baked by the couple WX and WN from my DSO orientation group. =P

It is indeed a very beautiful cake, which the couple is quite happy about although they said that more work could be done (e.g. small clusters of flour that are visible on the cake). Well, it is the thought that matters, and honestly it is a delicious cake! If they were to sell some cakes in future, I wouldn't mind buying some back home! :D

Took a bit of photos here and there, and then WN brought out a bottle of marshmallows to add extra decoration to the cake. Those marshomallows were kinda huge (not those really small ones for ice-cream toppings, and the next challenge would be to cut the cake into slices. I must say those marshmallows really stood in the way of cutting, and we all ended up just taking the marshmallows and eating them directly. =P

Reaching the last slice of the cake at about 9.20, Anyu came for the dinner! He was not feeling well that day, but still managed to drop by after his work ended late. How nice! Not much words from him as his voice was almost gone. =/ Before we dismissed, the group gave a birthday card and a bar of kindo bueno (wa when was the last time I ate this). That was very nice, thanks people! u are all awesome! :D

So that's it for a beautiful dinner, with Jason reminding me once again about the durian pizza. We then went home, and I chat with the couple (separately) about their interest to learn Korean. <3 WX had some proficiency in Jap, and decided to do a language switch (That reminds me that my speaking and listening of Korean is level 0) for fun. Think it would be nice if the couple learnt the language togheter, can disturb and stuff. XD

I recall last time when me and SH were taking LM9001, we were like spamming random phrases, reading random children storybooks and still had no clue on how to learn that language well. But nevertheless it was a very fun process! ^^

With that, I end this post! The birthday card has some really nice / funny messages, but I shall not put the content here. =P
