Sore throat guild outing

The jellyfish is back! ^^ 

Compared to the previous guild outing (The 2nd sing for fun), it's the same place, at around the same time, and of course doing the same activities! The big difference is that nobody is significantly late (YL latest and only 10 mins late). :D

The guild seemed to be rather concerned about WL's absence, and simply couldn't believe their ears when I said that WL really had a sore throat (even I couldn't believe myself). To summarise, this is actually what the guild meant:



Nat: YL, why your Trecia never come???
YL: Orh no la, never talk to each other...
Nat: Quarrel ah? Haha. Kor why Trecia never come?
Jeff: Well based on past experiences... Her relatives from overseas must have came down to visit her. XD

Posting about the 3rd sing for fun guild outing, otherwise known as the sore throat outing. :)

An auspicious outing started off with a quick lunch at Mac, which surprisingly does not have a very long queue. Perhaps the Hello Kitty has successfully let a lot of girls be sick of Mac food, or people just buy mac because of the Hello Kitty, well it's a good thing to get your food fast and eat it properly. :)

Thanks ah mei. Eugene was literally 'LMAO'-ing about the concept of my mei helping me suck the burger. Oh, how can I forget to mention ZY! Do you remember the days when he wore a plain white tee with short pants, but for now, he has grown up bigger, better, stronger, power! Ok la not so dramatic, but he has finally break voice, grew a bit taller, start to like to hit things (the escalator, the table, the wall...) and wore long pants! Someone should add in a cap and sunglasses, and you will have a cool dude yo~!

WL's absence also caused a bit of chaos in choosing the movie, as he is supposed to decide the movie to watch. After much consideration, queuing by Eugene (twice) and the teardown of my idea of watching 'After Earth', we chose Man of Steel 3D. $14 per ticket, exactly the same price as the Avatar movie a few years ago. Nat mei thought about WL (more like ask WL to inform we are going to be late), and asked me to call WL, which I thought it's a strange thing to do.

Nat mei: Kor, call WL!
Jeff: For what? He claimed he got no voice what.
Mei: You are the closest to him mah, so he can talk to you over the phone. :)
Jeff: (Not sure if I was supposed to accept that awesome logic, but I didn't make the call)

So much for everybody being early, we still ended up reaching late by about half hour. The lady is rather nice though to let us have the room for the full 4 hours (until 6.30pm) without any additional charge. ^^ Apparently she had expected more people as her reaction to a party of 6 was like: "huh only got 6 people??"   That reaction can be understood perfectly. The room is so much bigger than the previous small one we were in, everybody could lie down somewhere (sofa / floor) and there would still be enough space to put your belongings! Settling down comfortably, ZY grabbed a super thick catalogue of Chinese songs, and it seems really incredible that a particular Chinese character (eg Ai) could have like 20+ song titles having this word. Cool! YL should create a Chinese rap with all these song names! :D

The first 2 jugs of entitled drinks were coke and ice lemon tea, much to ZY's delight. :) Unlike the other time, nobody really bought a lot of food (eg Sharetea) to the room. So with the super big amount of space, 6 people were divided into 3 sides of the room, with a singout distribution! Nat with her English songs featuring Eugene, YL and his damn awesome singing of Chinese songs that is accompanied by YX, while I sat with ZY and kept on asking if he wants to sing anything / entertain him. :D

Without WL around, the proportion of rock songs decreased significantly. No All Time Low, no Click 5, no Paramore (^^). Ah well, I guess nobody really likes the rock genre?

ODNS say that the singing is complete without ZY! This is the song which ZY chose, which stunned clubber Eugene as he had never heard of this clubbing song before. Enjoy?



Eugene tried to turn on the original singing mode, and was greatly boo-ed by Nat mei.

Mei: "Wa Eugene you damn bad leh! Don't want to appreciate people sing!"
Eugene: "Orh no la... I wanted to hear the original song, but couldn't really understand what ZY was singing..."
Mei: "Walao! Never give ZY face sia!"

(5 mins later, ZY took his bag and left the room)

Mei: "You die liao, ZY angry already!"
Eugene: -_-

Haha, ZY went to the toilet / buy food, but I have no idea why he brought his bag though!

One note to myself, NEVER choose Kelly Clarkson songs unless War is around! Kelly Clarkson songs are not bad, but they are just too damn difficult to sing along with (Catch my breath / Mr Know it all, etc). If you want a good challenge, try singing her songs and Adele's song in succession. :D

As usual, a CC KTV would have its song limitations. No new Owl City songs (Shine Your Way), no Outasight songs, no Big Time Rush songs except for 'Music Sounds Better With You'. ATL... Didn't check.
Halfway through the singout, when YL and YX had an incredible large number of Chinese songs, ZY looked extremely bored, so I decided to share with him some of the songs which I usually hear, both clubbing and rock genres, and see which one he preferred! :D

Clubbing ones: Eternity, Piece of Heaven, Youtopia, This is what it feels like
Rock ones: Time bomb, For Baltimore, Awakening, Backseat Serenade

ZY thought of WL when he heard Backseat Serenade! "Eh, isn't that WL's song which nobody knew?"

The result? ZY likes The Wanted songs! His future gf's style? Walks like Rihanna. :D

 The singout ended with a surprise that we were entitled to 2 more jugs of drinks. The 5 of us drank the Ice Lemon Tea in cups, the other jug of Coke? Easily settled by ZY as he drank from the jug direct, because drinking Coke from a cup is just too mainstream. Good job!

Movie @ 1900hrs: Man of Steel



A rather nice storyline, but definitely not a 'must-watch' movie. =/ Since there were no longer any slots for the 2D movie, we watched the 3D version. Even though the animation is fantastic, the 3D effect isn't exactly that great, to the extent that you can even watch the 'slightly blur' version without much difficulty. A very abrupt ending.

Real usage of the glasses: To act cool. Hey yo dude. O-O

Dinner: Prata outlet

A super long queue at the prata outlet on a Saturday night, where other food outlets are closed and this is the only one left open other than Mac. ZY, Nat and Eugene ordered simple pratas (mushrooms, cheese, egg), YX and I got prata with curry chicken and YL craved for Nasi Briyani. The poor cashier must be a newcomer, she didn't really fully register record the orders, and in the end all the seniors have to come out to help her and deal with the customers. I was rather nice to record all the orders in my phone, but she still didnt manage to key in my orders correctly. Ah oh well, someone should give her a pair of specs!

After like about 15 minutes, the food is served! The prata is not bad, sorta crispy, good serving, and not sick of eating it. The curry chicken breast meat is just too damn hard, didn't enjoy the curry chicken at all. The iced milo is great, even though it's a bit too much on the sweet side. WL will love that <3

Random things that happened / topics we talked about during dinner~

1. Eugene got free curry chicken even though he didn't order that! Wa so good siol.
2. ZY got heaps and heaps of sugar on his prata. Is he competing with WL to see who will kena hyperglycemia first?
3. The awesome moment when you wear your full army uniform and enter the classroom.
4. If there's a maternity case and you see Jeff, it's GG time!
5. YX (the smart one) aims for a JC (AJ), ZY (the cute one) aims to go to a Poly (unknown).

Around 10.45pm, the outing is dismissed. Everybody went back home except for Eugene, who is going to club at a later timing. Rumour has it that Eugene actually intended to drag me along, but heng I siam / rejected quickly. XD No money to go. =P Alamak, no wonder WL never go outing luh, he secretly go clubbing with Eugene. >.<
