IKEA pizza outing

The jellyfish is back! Yep!

Well, in life, there are definitely things we missed out, and thus would take note not to miss that chance/opportunity again should it came knocking by~ Well; I can say that in this aspect, WL has done an excellent job! ^^ Not without basis, especially based on this recent outing.

What Jeff wanted: Pancakes! Perhaps walk around town.
What War wanted: Taichi movie, and NOT near town.
What WL wanted: Pasta, to go IKEA!!!

Truth to be told, the IKEA suggestion is so random until me and War had simply forgotten about it, whereas WL is behind his laptop, giving the most serious and dangerous look, planning the most appropriate time and reason to go, and briefs everybody on his plan the night before.  If I am not wrong, the starting goes like this.

“Gentlemen. As we have known, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have missed going to IKEA on the previous occasion. This is very unfortunate, but it is even more unfortunate when people around us, are simply complacent about things. Some among us, are taking the IKEA idea lightly, or worse, even forgotten about this important idea, and created a huge mess of things by creating a disastrous, pathetic, chaotic, salad! This is not going to happen tomorrow…” – WL’s IKEA plan

So yup, posting about the IKEA trip, with War and WL! Once again, PH is absent as he is in camp, again. He sure loves his submarine camp uh. O_O

For some reason, everybody was late that day (including myself). Me and WL were late by a bit, but fortunately had time to buy the tickets and stone for a while. 10 minutes before the movie, War was still absent and so I decided to call him.

Jeff: “War ah, 10 minutes later movie start already leh!”
War: “I told you I will be late already what!”
Jeff: “Late also got limit de sia, you now at where?”
War: “Approaching Jurong East… How come only got such a short time to buy tickets?”
Jeff: “25 minutes is freaking a lot of time sia! If not how much time you need??”
War: “Must at least be like 1 hour or something what!”

1 hour to buy tickets is rather ridiculous sia! Buying Zoo tickets also don’t need an hour lol… WL felt sad as he hasn’t buy Koi. Well that’s not my fault. The ticket buying is only 5 minutes, 20 minutes is definitely much more than enough to buy Koi. See la, late some more. Haix. =P [Chey, say like as if I early like that]

Taichi 2 is basically a continuation of Taichi, except that I felt that this movie is longer. It’s a good movie to watch. Compared to the 1st one, this movie focuses more on kung-fu skills rather than humor content. A part I like includes the time when the Chen Village was attacked, but the response to the attack was simply to eat breakfast before planning. Sounds like my style of doing things sia! XD

If this movie comes out in VCD, I would probably buy it! ^^

Surprisingly JCube has no ATM facility (other than OCBC) which makes it LARGELY inconvenient if you are shopping w/o cash and the shop disallows the use of a NETS card. We proceeded to the ATM machine near Jurong NTUC. WL and War were looking at some fanciful hoodies, windbreakers and other clothing when this interesting large hoodie came to our attention.

WL: “You see the size can or not? Buy a hoodie la, can wear!”
Jeff: “Dun want la, I got cap sia. If I wear a cap and hoodie, it would look very weird right?”
War: “It looks double stupid sia!”

Yea, A hoodie top covering a cap, you can’t see the cap design but yet something is simply sticking out, not very nice luh. =/

Oh, they both bought KOI (much to their desires), and were slurping away to their hearts’ contents while discussing which bus to take to Queenstown. To avoid all the nonsense, I started to play Triple Town on WL’s IPhone, which I played very badly compared to playing on Facebook. Part of the discussion went like this.

Jeff: Well, so if we take the bus, we have just about… 45 stops.  Yep, that’s only 41 more than taking the MRT!
WL: We can always take the bus at JE library, can save 3 stops and drink KOI! :D
War: Er… Eh? Since when is there a country club behind Science Centre? And how come Chinese Garden isn’t at Chinese Garden?
Jeff: (Points to CG which is definitely beside CG MRT station) It’s there la!
WL: Hahahhaa!!!!
Jeff:  -_-

JCube TV: “Save my world… Clap clap, clap clap… Save my world…”

Nothing interesting happened throughout the journey to IKEA. Perhaps I was engrossed in the Triple Town game. It has 1000+ moves to clear! =D

IKEA displayed its usual crowd of people on a weekend evening. We went on to look at the random furniture / items the store offered. Nothing really changed compared to the time I came with JM. WL seemed to be fascinated by the items, whereas War couldn’t stop complaining about his hunger. To curb his hunger and boredom, he tried to pronounce every word with slang, a very weird habit. O.o

A few interesting things~

IKEA actually has a heat rating for its comforters/quilts/blankets! Ratings include situations such as needing to wear socks during sleep or a desire to throw the blanket off during a sleep. The ratings help customers to decide the kind of blankets they want for a perfect sleep that matches the heat rating of the human body. Awesome sia!

Salad server is an epic item which nobody could have guess what is it without looking at the description. There are several items around it with weird shapes and designs, and this is definitely not contributing to a hint of what the item may be. So after I looked at the item~

Jeff: “Hey guys! This is a salad server!”
WL: “HUH WHAT!?”
War: “Hah! Got salad!”

The bathroom corner shows various types of mirrors, especially extendable ones. Perhaps Encik Rahul should buy one for me, then I may have the mood to shave really properly without him catching my anyhow-ly shaved chin. Ahaha! Moving on, the most interesting part should probably be the soft toys! Cute and cuddly pigs, mice, lions, elephants, and much more others which doesn’t suggest any link to the furniture in IKEA. I played with the puppet pig for a while, depicting the life of it from young which ended up as a rather dirty story (M18) by giving WL a BJ. (WL would like it anyway) -_-

The restaurant is full as usual, with a ridiculously long queue for the meatballs and other fantastic finger food. I realized the prices are affordable, and some may say it’s even cheaper than outside. We gave up on finding a seat inside and instead headed down to the café for a quick bite of hotdog, wedges, ice-cream and lingo berry drink. The $2 offer is still available, with no changes among the food items. The IKEA visit ended with WL buying 2 mice soft toys, and a filled-up feedback form which suggested no improvements / complaints. =P

Apparently Anchorpoint has no Pizza Hut! (Which I seriously didn’t mind) The next closest to WL’s pizza/pasta would be the Pizza Pazza shop in the food court, which was of course rejected by both of them for unknown reasons. Feeling rather lost, we went to the main entrance to wait for WL to check for the next nearest Pizza Hut location, while I and War were talking about the bakery café which smelt strongly of butter.

Halfway through the check, some aunties at a nearby stall suddenly talked to us.

“Eh Ah boy ah, can you all don’t stand there? You all stand at the main entrance, the doors won’t close, and aunty feels very hot ah.”

War is apparently stunned, while I was thinking that even if we did not stand there, the regular flow of shoppers would not have permitted the automatic glass doors to close. Seriously sia, does that few seconds of air-con matter to them? Anyhow only lol!

After checking, the next 2 nearest were at Clementi and Bugis. I actually don’t mind going to Bugis as I would be more familiar with that place compared to the ulu Clementi area. War was against it as he complained it was too far. WL? Well I think he didn’t mind anything, except that he kindly reminded that whenever we are lost, we have the tendency to end up at Bugis. Shall not disagree, check out WL’s blog for interesting case studies about this issue~

It’s auspiciously raining when we reached Clementi. The feeling of cold, hunger and desperation must have affected him mentally, as evident that he led everybody into the rain even though there’s a sheltered route, and forgot that he was at Clementi.

War: “Eh here got Seoul Garden ah!”
Jeff: “Of course la! You are the one who introduced this place sia!”
WL: “I thought Seoul Garden was one of the original suggestions? Warren you like very surprised sia…”
War: “Aiya don’t know la…”

His disastrous mind brought everyone to be lost in the Clementi marketplace for quite a long time. After walking through the high number of corridors, cutting through rainy carparks, passing by the hawker center for many times, he still couldn’t get anywhere near Pizza Hut.

Solution: GPS in War’s phone! Great!
Setback: He’s still lost with the GPS! -_-

I got impatient and took the whole phone from him to walk to Pizza Hut. Through enough, after walking for another 5 minutes, we finally found the block number which Pizza Hut is in! ^^ Luckily nobody gave in to these temptations / random happenings along the way…

H1: Passing by the hawker center

Jeff: Oh look! There’s a chicken rice stall here! I don’t mind eating here! :D
WL: NO!
Jeff: Okay…

H2: When we’re really lost for a long time

WL: Aiya, must well take taxi and ask the uncle drive us to the nearest pizza hut outlet.
Jeff: Later you see the uncle drive us to Lot 1 sia!
War: Hah! Lot 1!
WL: Aiya cui.

H3: Directly outside a mac outlet

War: Come here eat mac ah?
Jeff: I will smack you!!!

(Did I mention that there’s a total darkness block in Clementi? It looks extremely creepy, the kind of things you would want to see in a movie with a big abandoned city. O.o)

The grey building doesn’t look very welcoming, but however much we look on the 1st floor, there isn’t any sign/poster that suggests the presence of pizza hut. WL sort of guessed that it’s upstairs judging by the fact that the area doesn’t show the names of the shops upstairs, and he used the AMK K-box building as a roughly similar building structure.

When we go upstairs, there IS a Pizza Hut promotional poster (1 step closer!), but we still couldn’t see the entrance. After looking around a bit, we went inside courts and BINGO! The Freakin’ Pizza Hut is inside Courts!!! Someone should give WL a prize for his brilliant analysis! Ah oh well, his professional practices on my posts have indeed come a long way. =P

Compared to the other pizza hut outlets, this store simply has a lack of manpower! Half the tables are not empty, yet what’s keeping us from sitting at the table is the lack of people to show us the best possible table to be seated to maximize customer patrons demand (other than the ‘Please wait to be Seated’ sign). After waiting for like 10 mins, we finally sat down and placed our order.

I ordered the cheesy mushrooms and mushroom spaghetti in cream cheese base. Both tasted not bad, although I feel that Pastamania’s Al-Funghi pasta could be better than Pizza Hut’s one. Ate a bit of spicy drumlets too which were definitely not anywhere special. Helped myself to the ice water and cheese powder. The staff didn’t have time to care about all these. =/

WL talked about Nat Mei for random reasons. Her makeup, her photos, about her being a chio bu (?). Of course, the usual rampage of songs~ War stoned throughout the last part of the conversation.

With that, ends the auspicious outing! We, are never, ever, ever, coming here together!  :D
