Random things which I wrote in the Logic Finals
Qn: Here is an argument, the conclusion is already given.
Premise 1:
Premise 2:
Conclusion: All cats are iPhones.
i) Write down 2 premises which make this argument invalid.
What Jeff wrote
P1: All cats are expensive
P2: All iPhones are expensive
ii) Write down 2 premises which make this argument valid.
What Jeff wrote
P1: All cats are either iPhones or Samsung tablets.
P2: No cats are Samsung tablets.
=========
Qn: If the premise of an argument is a contradiction, can the argument be valid?
Jeff: Yeah. True by default.
=========
Qn: How would this probability be calculated based on the subjectivist theory of probability?
Jeff: The probability depends on a person's intuition and judgement. If the person thinks that the probability that the event would occur is Po, where 0<Po<1, then the probability that this event would occur is Po.
