Broken apology outing
The jellyfish is back! Yep, the title is very random, but let's just put it that way. =P Machiam emo guy siol.
Perhaps all things are just bright and beautiful, as they come together as one. After the singing with Tean and JM, the following week WL suggested to go and sing, and yeah. Nope, not at NTU alumni club as it's full, so we changed to another location. Posting about yet another outing with War and WL~ :)
----------
Once again, it's a tradition for PH to skip the outing, but hey at least everybody asked him to come out. However, it's not a tradition for everyone to reach the location much earlier than the reporting time.
Time WL wanted to reach: 1500
What time he asked everybody to reach: 1430
Amount of time he estimated to be needed to reach: 29 mins 59 secs
What time everybody reached: 1425 and earlier
What time Jeff reached: 1230
What time we reached the location: 1435
So yep, we slacked around outside a medical facility, while congratulating War on getting a new job (Avarto admin), and laughed at WL (bastard sia) for failing the interview. I think WL is too straight and probably criticised a thing or 2 about the silly things there, and hence fail. Ah oh well. War mentioned about how a guy was showing off his absolute knowledge during the group interview, and felt a bit guilty when he knew almost nothing about the company. It was lucky that I didn't go for that group interview, otherwise I will know nothing too! However, there's a way to counter the 0 knowledge negative situation.
Interviewer: So how much do you know about the company, and about our operations?
Smart guy: Bla bla bla bla bla.... (Show off)
Jeff: Sir, I don't know much, but I am more than willing to learn! XD
WL and War: Come I clap for you. =P
---
Before we entered the room, we were told that the price per person for 3 hours is $25, a much higher than estimated, as I thought that it would be around NTU Alumni Club pricing and didn't expect it to be so close to K-box's price. Ah oh well, just as I was about go grumble and complain about the expensive pricing, we entered the room and all those negative thoughts vanished!
The room: Very beautiful looking decorations (with a disco ball hanging by the thread), nice and comfy sofas, nice looking table, snacks provided and best of all. It's EXTREMELY SPACIOUS for 3 people! For the NTU alumni Club, the room provided must be like about 1/6 of my living room, very squeezy, but this place is really really comfy! The whole sofa must be enough to seat like 7 people, and since there were only 3 people, you can imagine how everyone lepak-ed and rested. :)
So after admiring the decos, War started ceremoniously with an old song which I don't think almost anyone alive would have heard of it before. While he's enjoying into the mood of old songs, me and WL were fiddling with the remote control and pressing random buttons like clap, cheer, etc. =P That's not bad! Cheering to motivate someone could really enhance their awesome / awful singing. XD
So basically, as everybody should have sort of expected, the genres which the 3 of us would sing.
War: Old songs
WL: Rock songs
Jeff: Club / Serenade songs? Ok la, not many songs on the club, cos War and WL don't like them.
So most of the time, War is on the mic, singing his old songs or singing Disney songs with me. Disney songs are somehow really nice and easy to sing, perhaps it's a classic thing of the past, or it's just that the tune is good and the cartoon soundtracks are familiar to everyone, nobody had much trouble singing those classic songs. Beauty and the beast, colours of the wind, etc... =D
"Or ask the grinning bobcat why you grin!" Wrong line, I sang that wrongly. =/
War's songs are really old! I don't usually listen to his songs, but when I do, I will try to appreciate the more serenade ones and ignore the really weird ones. (E.g. LOLA) Ok la, it's not exactly knowing nothing from War's list. Some songs are really familiar, like Beatle Songs, Bowling for Soup, etc, but in terms of the content, I am not that good~ Some songs are really an intersection for all 3, Call Me Maybe, Chinese songs (Classic Tong Hua), and more. Unlike singing with JM and Tean, singing with War and WL is mostly English songs, so if YL actually joins in this session, it would be like mutually exclusive events. =/
Some songs we sang~
Sleeping child! - A classic one which PH would love it. <3
Catch My Breath - I realised that this song is not really easy to sing...
Backseat Serenade - This song and WL comes in a pair.
Everytime we touch - War: "So old sia!"
Heal The World - A really nice song, which WL said he never hear before?
The Saltwater Room - Owl City song, no need to say, this is one of the nicest songs we sang. =D
Ho hey (by the Lumineers) - Actually we didn't sing that, it's just that I heard from War's phone and liked that song. :)
Shake it - 1 of the 2 songs in Metro Station's list of songs.
This brings me to the songs variety, I won't say it's really a lot. ATL only has 2 songs, I couldn't find Downtown Fiction and Yellowcard songs. (So sad!) Hmm, hope they do update their songs more regularly, because there isn't really a lot of new songs that I heard on 98.7, and some of them are not even new~~~
One thing that is bad is about the food pricing. Unlike NTU Alumni club, there is food being sold, but at a very hefty price. One bottle of mineral water costs $5, and a hot dog (with bread?) costs $13.80. Well, that must be one super dog! So what's left is to munch on the tidbits. =V
Oh! The highlight of the whole thing, other than War bombing his old songs, is that finally WL used the mic to sing!!! Compared to the last 2 guild outings which he simply refused to use the mic, he finally used it to sing Taylor Swift's Love Story. Ok wad, he sing not too bad, even though he can definitely sing ATL's songs to a better extent XD
"But with you, I Feel again!" Imagine WL singing that with a super high voice, it brings goosebumps.
--------
Dinner! Nope, not the auspicious Clementi Pizza Hut, not the delicious Seoul Garden, and it's not anywhere in Clementi! For strange reasons, we ended up at IMM, and dined at Subway again. -.- Random topics over dinner, lazy to elaborate. =P
- Sociology vs Psychology is just like a function and inverse function.
- Skychology, the studying of the skies.
- Delicious pokemons. That is just plain cruel. =/
-Finding a gf in FASS!
I think War mentioned that the guys: girls ratio in FASS is 1:2, which means that every guy can actually have 2 girls to himself. Well I can say that it's a good thing as you will have a lot of choices, or you can actually take 2 at the same time by giving them a 2D2O shift. On the flipside, if there's a situation which WL and War are together...
(All the girls flock to WL)
War: T_T Forever alone...
WL: (enjoying the girls) Oh stop it you.
- Benefits of living in a hostel
Yep, as uni life approaches, this is another question to ponder in the Pre-U stage. I remembered War saying something about, "once you live with a person long enough, you will start to realise the pros and cons of that person." So, is it really good to share a hostel?
Of course, not talking about the more serious factors like cost, distance, activities involvement. The one trivial thing which nobody really cared, but somehow is actually rather important, is the sexual needs (esp. for guys)
(Any below age 18 ppl, skip the below paragraph)
Seriously, if for the sake of privacy and respect for each other, how easy is it for a guy to not watch porn / masturbate for 5 days? There must be a day which two guys in a room will actually suggest to masturbate together right? o.o Isn't that kinda awkward? Food for thought.
-----
After dinner, we went to Jcube for awhile as War wanted to use the toilet. A strange thing happened, we got lost after entering Jcube, and so we kena seperated for awhile. I went to the 2nd storey toilet, and unable to find War, so I found WL and we moved to the ice rink 3rd storey toilet. After entering the toilet, we saw a cubicle toilet door being closed, and I said a bit loudly: "oh aiya here's War, no wonder we couldn't find him." An acknowledgement sound came from the cubicle, and so we went outside to wait for War...
(10 - 15 mins later)
War (SMS): Where are you guys?
WL: Outside toilet, waiting for you?
War: Got meh, never see you guys? Where are you?
WL: 3rd floor toilet...?
War: Huh? I at 2nd floor leh...
WL: O_O
Jeff: O_O!!!
=====================
That basically sums up the awesome day. =D
