It's P-p-playtime!
The jellyfish is back! Posting about Encik Saiful's celebration party for his 1 year old daughter, Alliyah. Some text, pics and captions to go around, will be posting them soon! =P

"Our beloved daughter is turning 1 very soon and we would like to extend an invite to our dearest family and close friends who have been a part of her life journey thus far to celebrate this joyous occasion! We are going to have a void deck party and the theme is Play!"
Kids dancing to Gangnam style, thanks to Amira playing the music. What did I say about being a childcare teacher? =P
===============================================
Lunch was extremely fantastic! It is a buffet lunch, so any guest can help themselves to the food throughout the event. Even though a lot of things were missing from the menu, but overall it has a generous variety of choices, and hey it's free flow!
Things that followed the menu: Laksa, lontong? Satay, kueh, spaghetti, mashed potato, mini cupcakes, cookie (at the A&C corner), hot tea. As expected, the 'mushroom soup' really became the sauce for the spaghetti!
Things that appeared out of nowhere: Bandung drink, samosa!
Things that didn't appear: A lot, the rest of the menu. A bit disappointed that the sandwiches and DIY Yoghurt were missing, it would be more fun to combine the yoghurt and doughnut together. :)
Nothing really special about the food, but the large enough variety is enough to satisfy anybody's hunger. A great success on the food section! I like the kuehs and boiled-egg with mushroom sauce best, they tasted awesome! XD
The tables which we had our meals, with this beautiful glass of flower and marbles at the bottom. It reminds me of holy water, which I don't think it's appropriate for this occasion. =/
~~
Throughout the afternoon, we just entertained the kids, joked around, talked about station life, how Zul's picture ended up in ITE Simei, disturb Amira upside down, etc. =P At around 3.30pm, the cake cutting for Alliyah was conducted with an opening speech.

Yup, that baby is Alliyah! Her birthday is actually on the 12th, but the party was organised on a weekend so that more people could come. Void deck function at Yishun, that's not something you get to see everyday! ^^
-------
So yep, at around 10.20am, I arrived at Encik Saiful's place to help out. Before the proper setting up begins, I sampled some food cooked by Encik Saiful's wife! Er... A plate of tomato spaghetti and some mushroom soup which suspiciously tasted like mushroom sauce that is supposed to be put on pasta. Both tasted delicious! At least the own cooked tomato sauce has proper tomatoes and isn't as diluted as my own made sauce in BP. -_-
They even had a menu to suit the tastebuds of both adults and kids1 Look really appetizing! Although I am already 20, I still prefer the kids' menu, heh young in the heart. XD

The preparations seemed rather hasty. While Encik Saiful's family members / relatives were preparing the decorations, positions, cooking of the food section, we were preparing the play section. It's not exactly difficult, all we had to do is just to lay some newspapers, prepare the materials / toys / accessories needed and lay them nicely onto mats. If you wanna attract kids / children, you have to position things nicely right? ^^
The different areas of the play section are being seperated according to different age groups, which means a variety of activities for everybody! Parents who feel unsafe leaving their kids unattended in the play area can even supervise them or even join in the fun~ Even if parents are not there, an appointed IC would be there to take care of the kids' safety, well-being and definitely interact and play with them. =P
At about 1pm, the people started to come in, with Zul and Amira being the 1st 'couple' to arrive. Did I forget to mention that Zul wanted to come to the event with me, but oh well, even though I am not surprised by the slightest bit, but it's a fact he abandoned his junior just like that. Haix. =/

Outer area: The painting wall!
This was supposed to be the original idea for kids to paint on the walls. Not literally as there were white sheets of paper covering a rather large space on the wall, but hey close enough right? Unfortunately, the wind doesn't seem to be happy with it and blew off the whole thing before the fun begins. In the end we got to move the big sheet of paper indoors, ah oh well. =/
--------------------------------------------
Indoor area 1: Art & Craft section for all ages!
Paintbrushes, straws, ice-cream sticks, oil pastels, papers, perfect for drawing your favourite characters and display your artistic skills!
Clay masters Zul and Amira! Perfect couple right? That's not the point anyway! Zul said that she could be a childcare teacher, i wouldn't disagree with that! =P Below are some pictures during the play-with-clay session. :)
Did Amira make this cookie monster? It looks rather alike! Someone should give her a prize, or a cookie for the creation!
Speaking about creations, when Encik Saiful said playing with food, he literally means playing and crafting with food! The phrase 'Don't play with your food' would be super inappropriate here as the point at this edible art&craft section was to see how nice can you design your food and enjoy the food of your success!
The starting, before anyone played with it:
Icings, creams, sugar toppings, cookies, and there are supposed to be rice toppings, but I think I took the picture earlier than the booth being completed.
Nearing the end of the playtime, this was the result. Extra doughnuts, and many children seemed to decorate their food but not eating it. I tried the doughnut, it tasted nice without any decoration! I should have taken a picture of my badly-decorated cookie and doughnut which consisted of raisins, icing, and excessively sprinkled sugar topping, confirm enough to make someone from hypoglycemia to hyperglycemia. =P
There's a few setbacks to this section though!
1. A waste of food at the end if nobody eats it.
2. The food quality would have changed with constant exposure to the air.
3. I remember seeing kids pouring the container of sugar toppings in their mouth, er hygeine issues?
4. Some adults took the toppings away and ate it with their satay / laksa.
5. Zul was saddened when Amira didn't make a decorated cookie for him. Aw. =(
----------
Indoor Area 2: Infants play area!
Ok la, I forgot to take the picture of the mat. -_- This is a super small area for infants to play with their balls. The mat has some children books, counting aids, figures to play with w/o anything that is small enough to cause choking. =)
------------------
Indoor Area 3: Traditional games and puzzles!
Well, this area is supposed to be for people to play with marbles, tangrams, and also throwing rings of different materials into hoops. If the last one sounds easy, you should have been there to try it as even adults couldn't score more than 3 out of 8! XD
Yea, the kids are seriously doing it wrongly by combining marbles and the tangram together, thus making a tangram tunnel.. ah oh well, creativity could be a plus point too. :)
Should have taken a picture of the hoops and poles. That's a seriously difficult game. The party warmly welcomed multi-racial harmony, as there were kids from Turkey who joined in the fun and games. XD
One of them even challenged Amira to the hoops, which I think ended up as a draw with 2 throws successful each. Not bad!
"You are going to die this Christmas!" Wakao damn bastard siol. - Zul
------------------------------------
Indoor Area 4: Woodcrafting station!
Alamak I forgot his name... He is the person in charge of this station and the pro who teaches the kids to make a very nice cube out of a wooden block using tools. I tried making 1, but somehow it turned out to be a cuboid rather than a proper smooth cube. Seems like woodcrafting isn't really for me!
~~
The most popular station would probably be the woodcrafting station. It seems to have at least a few kids dying to touch the tools and trying to make a perfect physical objects handcrafted by their own hands. I see they have potential to be construction workers, lol jk. =P
----------------------
Indoor main area: The moved white sheet~!
Yep, after the wind blew the big white sheet away, we moved it indoors. The following paintings / drawings are some creations by different people. :)
Handprints by different people, and ice-cream sticks that were being used to make boomerangs! Childhood memories of disturbing people with mini boomerangs explosions! Haha! Zul has a bit of trouble making them~
Sesame Street clay figures on paper, thanks to Amira! Well, all I can say that if as long as you change the colour, the character simply changes. They all look the same to me wor.
Zul's aerospace random law. Lazy to find the correct law for it! Is it something about aeroplace lift force?
This sort of sums up the drawings, random stuff in the middle of the afternoon? A fine piece of art indeed. ^^
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Other unclassified pics, which I took for fun. :)
The void deck. It looks quite empty, but there's actually quite a lot of activites inside. The Walls are seriously blocking a lot of things, I should have taken at another angle / place.
Kids dancing to Gangnam style, thanks to Amira playing the music. What did I say about being a childcare teacher? =P

Happy birthday Aliyyah! Nobody sang the Malay version, much to my surprise. o.o The cake was being cut and distributed to the guests for enjoyment. The cream cake tasted nice with all the jam on it!
Door gifts before we left at 6pm. The party went on until the night, but we didn't stay on, as I needed to work the next day, Amira had attachments and Zul may need to chiong his BMX in the night. XD
Speaking about gifts, Zul and Amira labelled their gift bag wrongly. There's nothing they can do about it though, unless cancellations are permitted. With love, Zul, Amira. <3
============================================
I don't think anybody has seen events like these before. A play area for kids is simply unique, but they would be frequently hosted at designated play areas like fast food restaurants, places with structures being set-up or even air-inflated objects. Even teenagers gathering, adult functions are all held at a function, clubhouse, chalet, or maybe even parks.
Still remember a chinese aunty asked if that was a Malay wedding as she saw the beautiful food section, I just replied that it was a friendly gathering for people to catch up with the times, and let the kids have fun in the area. Well, she still thought it's a Malay wedding, ah oh well. =/
Once again, happy belated birthday Alliyah! ^^ I feel that i have missed out something, if not that would be all. =)
