31 May (Thursday)
Went to HQ for a medical talk, which was boring and dosen't really make sense except for the American paramedic talk where the PM shared about his experiences and some habits to be a better paramedic. :D Cool! I think almost nobody slept for his lecture.
Speaking of that, I reached HQ at 8am which was way earlier than the reporting time, so just made myself comfortable at the sofa, reading a book containing various puns, when a colonel walked past.
Me: "Good morning Sir!"
COL: "Hey good morning, what are you doing here so early in the morning?"
Me: "Er, I am waiting for the 9am lecture..."
Oh wait, it's more of a talk than a lecture right? That answer sounds like a JC student answering when a random teacher asked about his purpose waiting outside the LT.
"In statistical significance testing, the p-value is the probability of obtaining a test statistic at least as extreme as the one that was actually observed, assuming that the null hypothesis is true."
Random, so anyway yea, nothing to add on about the HQ trip. It rained when the NSFs finished the flag raising ceremony, an auspicious way to start the day~
-----
Zul planned to have lunch together after the talk, so me, him, Amin, PM Haz, PM Rahul headed to Marina Bay with Breeks Cafe in mind. :) Nothing really interesting in the train, just listening to various comments / topics about the talk, and watching Amin play with his game which seriously looked like non-lego bionicle.
Somehow we had difficulty in reaching location, so after checking the many maps and directories, we were still unable to find the place and in the end wasted nearly half an hour by walking around Marina Bay while admiring the various objects / interesting machines~ PM Rahul was so hungry until he would settle for a plate of mixed veg rice from the food court. Lol! =P
There's a stretch of road which promoted different cuisines. There really looked nice, so I was rather fascinated by it.
RT: "Wah Jeff see food pictures on the pillar can be really excited, maybe more than having a gf."
That was really an anyhow sentence, so I added on.
Me: "So next time in future at night, i can say 'Eh you are tired right? Nvm is ok, have a good rest and just prepare tomorrow's breakfast'. XD"
O_O
After losing hope in finding Breeks, we ended up having our meal at Manhattan's Fish Market. The restaurant is rather nicely decorated with a TV showing many movie trailers and shows. The walls showed the history of MFM and other interesting information. At around 3.45pm, there is not many people dining, so actually it is rather condusive to eat at MFM at an ulu timing. :)
I ordered the fried mushroom and a dory-fish rice with rice and veg. The taste of the fish is soft, the rice is quite tasty, probably it has been cooked with herbs. The brocolli and carrots are ok. The best of everything is actually the mustuard sauce! It's rather sweet and combined well with the fish, rice, and almost everything else. Mushrooms? Ok la, normal. ^^
Other than that, there's nothing really special. Typical western restaurant food. =/
We went back after that, along the way a salesgirl who was promoting some skincare products came up to me and asked if I was interested in her items. I wonder why she didnt approach Ma'am Haz and find me instead. O_O
RT: Haha Jeff has a lot of charm.
Wakao, that's seriously anyhow sia! Oh, he almost lost his I-pad, thankfully the honest MFM waiter rushed out and returned it to him. :)

1 June (Friday)
The bright and beautiful morning started with me playing Marvel: Avengers Alliance on FB. -.-
With roti prata for breakfast! XD
~~~
I had lunch with my aunt and cousin at Bakerzin in TP1. The prices on the menu are really expensive, so I just ordered a light meal to prevent epic overspending. Thus lunch for me is this grilled dory fish burger with a bit of nachos and coleslaw.
Hmm, compared to MFM grilled dory fish, this one does not taste as fantastic / juicy. The buttered crispy bun is rather crispy though! I also tried some cream sauce pasta from my cousin's dish, tasted all right.
Bakerzin also offered a free flow of bread if u dine in the facility. So I tried the few varieties of bread including raisin, walnut, plain... There's an infa-red toasted which made the bread warm. There's extra olive oil and 1 extra addition (I forgot what is it). BZ provides butter also, and thus this free bread serves as a filler while waiting for the food to be served, and it may be a really long wait!
Other than that, nothing special other than the high price. Hmm...
------------------------
Proceeded to 21 Choa Chu Kang Ave 4 to watch 'Snow White and the Huntsman' with SY, ZH and TeanZY. SY was late for half the movie due to unknown reasons~ It's a nice movie, and I was rather surprised when the 7 dwarves really appeared in this movie. I have never properly read about the story when I was young, so this movie is a great chance to refresh / review my childhood! =P
Dinner was changed to eating at Pizza hut (from the original plan of MFM). Cheesy Bliss pizza 7 with fries, cheese mushrooms, regular pizza. Somehow birthdays with 03/P1 ppl would always be at Lot 1 pizza hut, did that happen during the past few years? JM tagged along, which I was rather surprised~!
Ah, someone had their birthday at Pizza Hut too, and that person had buddies singing for him / her. Heartwarming! =D
Random: "Unlike Zul, ZH really likes K-pop."
Some random browsing in the video shops, and I headed back home. PM Saiful is the last person to give his wishes at the correct date. Interesting!
2 June (Saturday)
War wanted to go out to celebrate my birthday, with the usual uncertainty of place and activity.
WL: "Why don't we have a buffet at Chong Pang BBQ, I am craving for food!"
Jeff: "Let's go makan and watch at movie at town! It should be fun on a Saturday!"
War: "Let's go watch a movie!"
*WL and War's plan were being taken up after the auspicious hour of deciding.* Chong Pang BBQ has been relocated from Turf City to Balestier (near the Boon Tong Kee chicken rice). A rather ulu place, and War has totally no idea of where that place is.
War: "Eh Jeff ar, that place like very ulu leh."
Me: "yea it is very ulu, but it is rather near to TTSH, so still not that very ulu ba."
War: "If that's the case, must well I call 995 and ask them to send me to TTSH..."
No wonder we have so many calls.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Boarded a bus at Novena (with 10 mins to go before the movie starts at Shaw Balestier). Nothing interesting happened until War started to realise that the journey was way too long and I have seen the OG building which indicated that we were definitely heading into the wrong direction.
So after an auspicious longer journey of heading to nowhere, we ended up at Bugis, which was supposed to be where my mei was supposed to hold her outing / anniversary. In the end the outing switched totally from WL's plan to my plan. Poor WL was kp-ing about not eating at Chong Pang for an hour or two. :/
Sort of walked a bit around Bugis Junction and admired the different special products at the store beside the cinema. Rather interesting, should visit that shop for unique birthday presents. ^^ There's a EwF store over there as well, but somehow the products and dishes were not exactly the same as the one in Orchard. War didnt seem to be interested in trying out that store for dinner.
MIB 3 at Bugis was awesome! (Compared to Avatar) Great movie, with the story about going to the past and rescuing the world.
Nice theme song! It's just Boris! One of my favourite character, although it's supposed to be a villian. Probably because it's manner of speaking is rather anyhow~ "Let's agree to disagree."
After the movie, we proceeded to a steamboat/bbq place for dinner. Since the 1st few stalls were UNUSUALLY crowded, I suggested the place where I had the steamboat dinner before with Marcus and others. The one with the custard pan-fried bread. :)
$22 per pax, is that the same price as last time? We were seated on the 1st level since War wanted the bbq function. Rather hot, and the TV signal was rather weak as it turned off by itself... A pity PH wasn't there, or else there would be an expert whipping up the best dishes with the simple ingredients. (Machiam Chef sia!)
Spammed luncheon meat and sausages. The chicken soup was rather nice. The 'starfishes' were a bit strange. The dinner ended up with WL frying an egg, with me messing up by adding luncheon meat to that egg. Did WL add any soup to the egg? Anyway it tasted all right, so all well that's end well!
BH, Gladys and someone else was there (Who was it again?). Apparently they were celebrating her birthday, how heartwarming. :)
And this concludes the end of a saturday night dinner in town. Aw no Chong Pang. I still have no idea how on earth did the whole building disappear when its supposed to be visible on the map. :/

8 June (Friday)
NSTI had a half-day for strange and unknown reasons. Marcus decided to go out for a random outing! :D JM and Marcus were late for 1.5hrs due to strange and unknown reasons too! Oh, Brandon tagged along! He still have no kids though! Aw. =P
Once again, we went to Orchard Swensen's for the ice-cream buffet which we have went to some time back... The last time we went, we ordered a main dish and a special price of $12 for the ice-cream buffet. For this outing, we just had the buffet for $18. Power~!
Tried the large variety of ice-cream. Mint, vanilla, banana split, butterscotch, raisin, etc. I took about 5 rounds, so that should total up to about 10 to 15 flavours of ice-cream. The waffles were rather nice, along with the random ice-cream toppings and cakes. The cheesecake was fantastic, although it seemed to be rather filling.
I also tried making the fondue stick consisting of marshmallows, fruits and cream puffs dipped in both white / dark chocolate. Delicious! JM made a very messy sundae consisting of nuts, junk food and raisin ice-cream. A slight taste of alcohol in that ice-cream. :/
So yea, as usual talk about the life we had, the stupid officers, the nice people, the blur NSFs, the directives, the interesting life I had in station...
Looking back, it seems to be only yesterday that I had requested to be a TMO and also directly rejected the offer of being a medic when I was chosen to go for the medic interview (skipping a PT lesson too). The disappointment when Sir Greg told me that I am going to have a bright future of being a medic, the days when we were talking about the 'what if' for different types of vocations, the particular day Marcus said that if me, him and JM were in camp, we would have lunch in the cookhouse everyday...
With a shift of having a bunch of off days, its just half a year more to ORD~! :D
Ah. Speaking about waffles, Brandon took a plate of waffles that is being wrapped nicely in clear plastic from the display table. He opened up and wanted to savour.
Marcus: "Eh Brandon ah, don't you wonder why is this waffles being wrapped up?"
Brandon: "Er... dunno leh. But never mind la."
Jeff: "This is a sample sia!"
Oh really is it? XD
One does not simply take a plastic foiled waffles and eat it.
~~
After the buffet, we walked around Orchard, passed by Somerset 313, passed by and commented on EwF, walked around, and went to Starbucks and stone. These places sounds almost exactly like the one i went with SOH! O_O
Need to work day shift on the following day, so left town at around 8.45pm. Sianz!
-------------------------------------------------
9 June (Saturday)
Murturbak near Sembawang Shopping Center with PM Fazly, his wife and daughter!
Ate a large chicken murturbak ($8), which was really delicious! The rest of the family ate roti-prata and traditional drinks, except for a Yakult-ple [Yakult + Apple juice]. Wth does that taste like, I would rather not find out. :)
Left Yishun at 9.45pm that night, and got an awesome cheesecake from the daughter. Thanks! ^^
A memorable quote from the daughter: "No money, no honey." Apparently she gave this wise quote when we were discussing about planning marriages and future plans. Hmm!
========================================
That's the end of all these random outings! Cheers!
